Nova Leah Announces the Appointment of Two New Board Members

Nova Leah has today announced the appointment of a number of new board members, bringing the company’s total board members to seven. Kernel Capital Director, Denise Sidhu, and Milind Parate of Northwell Holdings join our distinguished board of directors. This is a welcome addition to the Nova Leah team as the company expands across the US and worldwide.

The announcement of an extended board of directors is an exciting step for Nova Leah. The news comes as Nova Leah expands its technology footprint across the US, bringing its real-time threat monitoring product portfolio into health care delivery systems. The move is a response to the significant and growing disruptions that healthcare delivery systems have experienced as a result of a variety of security threats, which have hampered their ability to function effectively. Nova Leah supports cybersecurity processes across medical device design and development, market approval, monitoring, supply chain, purchasing, deployment, and use right through to product decommissioning.

Nova Leah Co-Founder and CEO, Dr. Anita Finnegan, had the following to say about the news:

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Milind and Denise as our new board members. Both join the board bringing unique backgrounds and extensive expertise to further support our organisational mission to enhance the cybersecurity posture of the healthcare industry. Milind and Denise join Nova Leah at a very exciting time as we expand our cybersecurity offerings to cover the entire supply chain between medical device manufacturers and healthcare providers.”

Meet Nova Leah’s New Board Member – Denise Sidhu

Denise Sidhu is a partner and director at Kernel Capital and a member of the firm’s investment committee. The Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Venture Funds, investing in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, are one of the largest and most active sources of equity finance for technology companies on the island of Ireland. Prior to joining Kernel in 2001, Denise was head of finance in Ulster Bank Commercial Finance Limited and prior to that, financial controller of The Bank of Nova Scotia, Channel Islands.

Ms. Sidhu had the following to say about her new role:

I am delighted to join the board of Nova Leah at this exciting time in the company’s journey. The compromise of a connected medical device can have incredibly severe consequences. Nova Leah’s product suite allows healthcare providers to deploy these new technologies in a way that protects patients and their sensitive health information. We at Kernel Capital believe Nova Leah are well placed to capitalise on this emerging opportunity.”

Meet Nova Leah’s New Board Member – Milind Parate

Milind Parate is vice president, corporate development at Northwell Holdings. Milind has 20+ years of healthcare sector experience, across therapeutics and healthcare services/health technology verticals. Prior to that, Mr. Parate spent 16 years in investment banking (M&A/strategy, corporate finance, capital markets transactions), six years of which as an Equity Research Analyst covering healthcare facilities and specialty pharma/large-cap pharma.

In healthcare, we have a strong and growing reliance on technology and data. A commitment to maintain the safety and security of that information is at the forefront of our thinking,” said Mr. Parate. “Our investment in Nova Leah is an affirmation of the company’s founder, Anita Finnegan, to execute on a strategy to bring cybersecurity solutions to market, and a belief that our collaboration can enhance and accelerate this process.”
